"Brenda, can I see you for a moment?" Timothy asked as he popped his head into Brenda’s
office door.
Brenda nodded slowly as she continued to type into her computer.
"Its about the Carter, Dylan murder."
Brenda’s ears perked up when she heard that statement, her eyebrows raised in question. "What about it?"
"Well, Alicia Anderson has offered to do a real in depth interview with us. She said that she would tell us the entire
story of what happened while her and Carter were together."
"Really? That’s great Timmy. It will bring a lot of publicity to the show. Whose going to interview her?" Brenda
asked with a head tilt.
"I was thinking you."
"ME! You cant be serious. This is the interview of a lifetime, Billy, Ally, or even Chloe should interview her. They’ve
been here for YEARS and hadn’t had the opportunity."
"Well, I sat with the other producers and we talked about everyone. And we decided to choose you. Yes, this is the ultimate
interview, it will bring this show a HELL of a lot of press since our ratings have went down. You have been doing a lot of
great stories lately. The one with Janet Jackson last month was unbelievable."
Brenda nodded. "But I’ve only been here for 3 years."
"Yes I know and in these three years you’ve shown excellence, you deserve this interview. I mean, the world has not
seen a murder this brutal sense the Charles Manson. And ya know...people have been saying that you’re the next Barbara
Walters."
Brenda smiled at the thought. "I know, but this girl is crazy right, she’s not entirely there in her head, how am
I suppose to talk to her?"
"You’ll be able to talk to her. Trust me. She’s not as insanely psychotic as the world thinks she is. You’ll
do great. But I have to run. Have the interview questions ready by Friday afternoon and on my desk so I can review them by
Monday. Then we’ll need to schedule a interview for April 30, that will be almost a month from Tuesday. Ok?"
Brenda nodded slowly. "Got it."
Timothy smiled and shut the door behind him. Brenda sighed loudly as she cleared her computer screen and began to type
possible questions for a full show interview. Two whole hours, just Brenda and Alicia a cold blooded murderer. Brenda shuddered
at the thought. She saw the pictures of the bodies. Motive. She had to have a motive to kill two people.
"She was charged and convicted of murder in the first degree, stalking, breaking restraining order twice and threats. She’s
sentenced to 213 years in the Florida penitentiary."
Alicia Anderson hasn’t actually admitted to why she killed the couple. All the public knows is that she and Nick
dated for over a year. "This is the interview of my career and I will get the scoop." Brenda stated as-a-matter-of-factly.
Brenda sat anxiously in the rolling chair as she smoothed out the wrinkles in her gray skirt and crossed her legs. She
smiled at the large guard who blocked the exit of the cold room. Brenda looked out of the small squared window, covered with
bars. Shuddering she leaned back and sighed and she looked through her papers with statements from the victims families, statements
from her families, the lawyers other reporters and her therapist and so on. The show with this interview is suppose to air
in exactly one month from today. And starting next week there will be promotional things on tv and in newspapers and magazines
talking about the show, hyping it up if you will.
Brenda has never been this close to a murderer before. The only people she has interviewed were musicians, actors and so
on. This is the interview of a lifetime, one every station and every show wanted. But 48 hours got it. People have heard everyone’s
side except Alicias. And everyone had a right to be heard.
Brenda was broken out of her thoughts when the door directly across from her opened and in walked a very skinny, sick looking
brunette, chains holding her legs together and hand cuffs holding her wrists together in front of her body. She had on a simple
orange jump suit, no name on her gray tag over her chest. Just numbers that identified who she is.
The two female guards that held Alicia’s arms guided her to her chair and she sat down with a huff. "Ok HE-WOMAN
and XENA. You can LET go now."
The women shook their heads and let go of her arms roughly. Alicia smiled slightly at Brenda. "You must be Brenda, I would
introduce my self, but you already know me."
Brenda nodded slowly and swallowed a lump in her throat. "Hello, do I need to go over what we’re going to discuss
exactly in detail?"
Brtiney shook her head and leaned back into the chair. "Nope, I know exactly what we’re going to discuss. I will
answer anything you throw at me...." Alicia paused and looked around the small room. "Because what else do I have to lose?"
